What if they’ve been collecting for a long ass time, you’re going to call them a ‘Hypebeast’ ? What if, they collect because it’s a passion, and it’s something they enjoy doing? Gonna’ call them a hypebeast still? No. You shouldn’t. Majority of Shoe Collectors collect because it’s something they love doing, and that they’ve been doing for awhile. But then again, this generation of people is gonna’ call everyone that’s into sneakers a “Hypebeast” or “Shoehead” or whatever. Stop being stereotypical, and pay attention to why they collect. Like i said before, It’s SOMETHING THEY LOVE AND ENJOY DOING. Maybe they’re not the most artistic, but they’re skilled in learning and knowing about shoes. Maybe, they grew up collecting shoes when they were younger, because of their parents or siblings or family members. Maybe, they got into collecting because they’re friends were into it along time ago, and they thought it was interesting ? I don’t really know, there could be so many different reasons to why people are into the shoe game. But just remember it’s a passion that alot of people have. Don’t ruin it for everyone by stereotyping them.

I personally got into it because it was interesting to me and my older cousins started teaching me about shoes like when i was 11, and I just caught on and I’ve loved sneakers ever since. But i can care less if people call me a “hypebeast” for collecting shoes. I enjoy it, I love it, and It is my passion.

 Like the post, but there is HUGE difference between an authentic collector and a “hypebeast.” Ask Rob Brown. He has more patience than I.

Hypebeasts are kids who collect shoes not knowing anything about what they are collecting. If you have fusion jordans in your collection, you are not a collector, you are a hypebeast. If you’re out waiting in lines for retro jordans in colorways that were never out in the first place, you are a hypebeast. Jordan brand straight plays kids now adays. They put out garbage and kids eat them up. Those are hypebeasts. If you don’t feel this is you, you’re not a hypebeast. I buy shoes because I feel they are a form of art. I feel that there are shoes that are truly pieces of art. That’s why I buy what I buy. Not because jordan scored 60 points in them so they released a colorway that jordan wasn’t even wearing at the time, nor did he ever wear. Fusions are a perfect example. Classic shoes that nike has basically stolen ideas from and thrown together with another model that they have ruined with over use and an abundance of terrible colorways. Who cares if you’re being called a hypebeast, as long as you don’t feel you are one. If you’re a real sneakerhead you know who’s a hypebeast and who isn’t. Look at yourself, what do you think? That’s all that matters.
